Studio Edition Runs Fine
I bought the drive as a backup for my 500GB, 2.8GHz iMac. It was a breeze to install the Firewire 800 interface. Leopard recognized the new drive immediately and asked if I wanted to mount it as my Time Machine backup. I installed the WD driver and never looked back. I'm pleased to report that the drive performs exactly as advertised waking up when required and shutting down when I power down the Mac. The drive is very quiet, runs cool and looks good. Absolutely no complaints.


Great hard drive!
I purchased this hard drive for use with Time Machine on my iMac. It works very well, and is very fast over FireWire 800. It backed up my nearly full 250 GB hard drive in less than an hour. When I accidentally erased my hard drive a couple weeks ago trying to set up a Boot Camp partition, I was able to restore it completely with this drive. Solid construction - great buy!
